Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami


My rating: 5 of 5 stars
One of those books that grinds against the nature of being and leaves the reader aching not only for the story within but for the loss of the virgin experience of it. Like all Murakami's work, rich with dream imagery that lingers in your memory for days, months, years. Simple language, big symbols, crazy characters, ultramodernness to spare -- a must read classic.
